As Chairman of the subcommittee responsible for oversight of the Veterans’ Administration, Christopher forced a reluctant VA to provide better care for veterans suffering from Gulf War illness. Below is an exchange between a veteran and Christopher Shays.
“Oh it’s clearly a cover up. I mean, I have no reluctance in saying that.”
– Christopher Shays
Mr. Shays is correct… in over twenty hearings, that became known to us Gulf War Veterans as the ‘Shays Committee’, in no uncertain terms and on many occasions he pulled no punches, asserting to top level officials from DOD, VA, the CIA and other notables, that we owe our veterans the truth. No other committee, no other Congressman and no other American citizen has been as diligent, persevering and most of compassionate to the plight of our Veterans.
As one of the Engineers who blew up the Khamisyah Weapons Depot in 1991, I affirm the cover up is real, it is massive, and it is on going. Connecticut, the United States and most of all our nations Veterans NEED Christopher Shays in the Senate, he has a mission to carry forward, he has the experience, the drive and most of all the heart.
