Today WWE sent a letter to Christopher Shays, which they released to the press. In the letter, they accused him of making ‘blatant misstatements’ about WWE. The letter correctly quoted Christopher as saying “WWE’s business is about violence, bullying, degradation of minorities and women.”
In response to the letter, Communications Director Amanda Bergen said,
“Anyone who does a quick YouTube search on Linda McMahon’s family business can see that WWE has a long history of promoting violence, bullying and degradation of women and minorities. Below are just a few examples.”
The following video starts with the announcer declaring that “sex and violence sell”. The two women are told to strip, kiss each other, and are then kicked in the chest and dragged by the hair by two extremely large men, while the announcer watches and laughs. The video continues with the men dragging the ‘unconsious’ women on top of each other and jumping from the top of the ropes onto them.

In this video Vince and daughter Stephanie McMahon humiliate a woman in a bikini by slapping her, screaming at her and rubbing a filthy mop from a bucket of slop on her face.

In this video, Linda McMahon’s husband forces someone who works for him to strip to her underwear, crawl on her hands and knees and bark like a dog.

“If these examples don’t define ‘violence, bullying and degradation’, what does? While the Republican party does not have a war on women, it’s clear WWE does,” says Amanda Bergen.
As Linda McMahon said on The O’Reilly Factor, “We like what we do.”
